The captain slowed the vessel and turned it around to aid the rescue. Crew members launched a bright yellow rescue boat and tossed life preservers into the water, reaching the father and daughter in minutes.
Passengers watched anxiously from the decks, some filming the rescue. The Disney Dream returned to Port Everglades as planned, ending the cruise on a note of relief.
