The Czech Republic attracted nearly 23.6 million guests throughout 2025. This figure reflects sustained popularity as a European destination blending history, culture, and natural beauty. Overnight stays totaled 59.1 million across the year. Visitors increasingly chose longer trips compared to previous periods.
Foreign travelers contributed significantly to the growth. Their overnight stays rose by 1.3 million compared to the prior year. Total visitor numbers exceeded 2019 levels by 1.6 million. Overnight stays surpassed pre-pandemic figures by 2.1 million.
Germany remained the leading source market with over 2.3 million guests. Poland followed closely with 939,296 arrivals marking an 11.9 percent increase. Slovakia sent 931,856 visitors representing a 3.9 percent rise. Emerging markets showed notable gains including Israel at 33.4 percent growth.
Other distant countries recorded strong upticks. The United Arab Emirates saw 30 percent more visitors. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Japan, Argentina, and China also contributed to the expansion. These shifts highlight broadening international appeal beyond traditional European feeders.
All regions experienced visitor increases. Olomouc, South Bohemia, and Liberec regions posted the highest growth rates. Only Pilsen saw a slight decline in foreign arrivals. Travelers explored beyond Prague toward diverse areas.
Guests favored higher-quality accommodations. This preference supported longer average stays. Domestic demand stayed stable alongside rising inbound interest. The combination drove overall sector performance.
František Reismüller serves as Director of CzechTourism. He described 2025 as confirmation of the country’s status among top European choices. Reismüller noted encouraging trends in stay duration. He highlighted faster growth in foreign overnight stays than arrivals.
The nearly 1.3 million additional foreign overnights brought totals close to 2019 benchmarks. Reismüller pointed to strong overseas interest complementing local tourism. These patterns indicate maturing visitor behavior. Travelers seek deeper experiences across the nation.
